  1. NOTE: The second last choice on this MENU, "DOS Installation Procedure" must 
  2. be chosen ONLY once.  You should do this immediately to avoid confusion later.  
  3. This choice builds a temporary sub-directory on your "C" drive for the Graphic 
  4. Animations to TEMPORARILY reside during playback.  They are removed upon 
  5. exiting the animations.  It also copies a few drivers into the temporary sub-
  6. directory that are necessary. 
  7.  
  8. IMPORTANT:  You MUST have 600K free memory (BASE MEMORY) in order to run many 
  9. of the Self-Running Stereo Award-Winning Animations.  In order to facilitate 
  10. this parameter, we suggest you add the following statement into your 
  11. config.sys file if you do NOT already meet the requirement:
  12.  
  13. NOTE:  In some machines it may be necessary to remove EMM386 to view the high 
  14. resolution animations.
  15.  
  16. DOS=HIGH,UMB
  17. (Use the term, "DEVICEHIGH" wherever the term, "DEVICE" is found in your 
  18. present CONFIG.SYS file.)
  19.  
  20. (We suggest you remove ALL TSR's, {Terminal Stay Resident} programs from your 
  21. AUTOEXEC.BAT before re-booting.  This will insure that there will be no 
  22. conflicting space requirements in your base memory locations.)
  23.  
  24. NOTE:  There are several animations that will ONLY run from this DOS MENU and 
  25. several that are designed to ONLY run from the WINDOWS environment (such as 
  26. the video selections).  In order to take full advantage of this product, you 
  27. should view the animations in BOTH environments!  The VIRTUAL REALITY game can 
  28. only be run from the DOS environment MENU.  (The one you are presently using)
  29.  
  30. The HIGH Resolution animations require that you have your VESA driver (Version 
  31. 1.1 or better) loaded for your VGA card to display them.  The diskette that 
  32. accompanied your VGA card should contain your VESA driver.  In the event you 
  33. have misplaced your diskette, try searching through the many VESA drivers 
  34. included on this CD-ROM under \DRIVERS\VESA for your particular one.  
  35.      (Use the SPACE BAR to PAUSE any of the High Resolution Animations)

  39.      Windows Users - To install to Windows, bring up your program manager 
  40.      and click your mouse on RUN in the FILE menu.  
  41.  
  42. Type:     X:\SETUP 
  43. (Where "X" represents the letter of the CD-ROM drive)

  45. Then click on OK.

  48. (You may also choose the CD-ROM drive letter using your mouse, then click on 
  49. the program entitled, SETUP to install the Animation Festival)

  52. If you do NOT have VIDEO for WINDOWS, click on CONTINUE when the Microsoft 
  53. Video For Windows installatin window appears!

  60. You MUST have 600K RAM available to run the self-running DEMO animations on 
  61. this CD-ROM.  They will all run from the MENU provided once that parameter is 
  62. established. (Make sure that your mouse driver is loaded!) 
  63.  
  64. The animations are designed to copy to a temp file on the Hard-Disk drive 
  65. from the DOS menu.  On the WINDOWS side there is an OPTIONS box which allows 
  66. you to run the animations from the CD-ROM.  However, you will experience a 
  67. "slide-show effect" on slower CD-ROM drives.

  69. Suggestion:  When in the WINDOWS environment, choose the OPTION, "AUDIO OFF" 
  70. and pick some of the more dramatic animations such as STHELENS on Page 19.  
  71. When the sound files are turned OFF, the animations will run faster and 
  72. smoother!
